Future Urban Water L.E.A.D.er Cleanups

Our youth-led environmental group, L.E.A.D. (LEARN EARN AND DEVELOP), conducts plastic and trash removal from important urban water bodies that impact the Gulf of Mexico. They are paid a stipend to engage in these urban water cleanup efforts.

Education, youth employment

L.E.A.D. youth benefit from educational trips and/or career fairs to gain mentorship, knowledge, and exposure.

L.E.A.D. Youth eligible for this program resides in high-opportunity communities and also receive support connecting to youth employment.

Guiding Tenets for Youth Development:

Altruism: Future Urban Water L.E.A.D.ers help their community and environment.

 

Employment: Youth in our Future Urban Water L.E.A.D.ers program earn money when they take part in community cleanups, urban water cleanups, and L.E.A.D.ership Exposure Trips.

Exposure: Exposure to professionals in STEAM environmental fields, increases L.E.A.D.ers' ability to achieve in post-secondary endeavors.
